UK coffee company set to close after 76 years as it enters voluntary liquidation
The Liverpool-based roaster supplied cafés, restaurants and hotels across the UK and beyond before administrators were appointed.
Joe Black Coffee Roasters is set to close after 76 years in business, having entered voluntary liquidation. The Liverpool-based roaster has maintained a long-standing presence since 1950.
Founded in 1950, the company operated as a major supplier of coffee to cafés, restaurants, hotels, and workplaces across the country, offering training and machine servicing.
According to The Gazette, Adam Price and Lane Bednash of CMB Partners Limited were appointed as joint administrators on September 8. This formalizes the liquidation process.
The company aimed to deliver "exceptional coffee experiences" and supported businesses "every step of the way," promising each cup would deliver quality straight from the roaster.
Amid a difficult year for the high street, retailers like Whitbread and the British Heart Foundation are closing stores, while Wayfairer Travel Limited recently suspended all services.
