UConn men get early-season chance for revenge against Michigan in Boston
The matchup gives Michigan a quick chance to defend its 69-63 title-game win as both teams enter the season with top-10 expectations.
On Tuesday, the University of Michigan announced the Wolverines will face UConn in a national title game rematch on Nov. 6 at TD Garden in Boston as part of the TNT Sports Hall of Fame Series.
Following the 2026 NCAA Tournament championship, the Wolverines defeated the Huskies 69-63 in Indianapolis to capture their second national title and cap a 37-3 season.
Both programs return key players from their title matchup, including Most Outstanding Player Elliot Cadeau and Silas Demary, while the Huskies hold a 2-3 all-time record against the Wolverines.
Michigan coach Dusty May called the early matchup a "great test," while UConn coach Dan Hurley said it will be "awesome to return to Boston" to see fans in "Storrs North."
The Hall of Fame Series returns to Boston with a second game featuring Providence and Syracuse on Dec. 19, while Michigan's nonconference schedule includes matchups against Marquette, Duke, and Villanova.
