Uber Pushes Drivers To Go Electric With $4,000 Rebates
Uber offers a $4,000 rebate plus a $1,000 TrueCar discount to U.S. drivers buying electric vehicles, complementing state incentives in four states, to support zero-emission goals.
- Beginning today, Uber renamed Uber Green to Uber Electric and limited bookings to only electric vehicles, Axios reported on October 22.

- The company says its Go Electric grants offer eligible drivers up to $4,000 in New York, California, Colorado and Massachusetts, plus a $1,000 TrueCar discount that can be stacked.
- The timing could spur EV demand in the year's final quarter as Uber says the fund will help thousands of drivers switch, supporting over 200,000 EVs already on its platform.
- With adoption targets in place, Uber is expanding battery-aware matching, and Santosh Rao told Axios, `'Affordability is an issue with EVs, and we want to make it as easy as possible for drivers to transition,' Rao explained, Axios.
