- Terminals in Shanghai and Ningbo suspended operations starting Wednesday to prepare for the storm; logistics firm Kuehne+Nagel reported Yangshan and Waigaoqiao halted empty container operations by 2 p.m. Wednesday.
- According to MarineTraffic data released Thursday, Shanghai recorded 1,506 port-call movements, around 70 percent fewer than the preceding day, while Ningbo Lishe International Airport cancelled 16 inbound and 28 outbound flights.
- Ocean spot freight rates increased 25 percent to $1,199 since July 30, according to maritime advisory Drewry, pushing the Intra-Asia Container Index to its highest level in three years.
- Research firm Linerlytica estimates east Asian berthing delays left 4.3 million TEUs stranded, accounting for 12.6 percent of global fleet capacity amid persistent weather disruptions.
