Typhoon information. It is currently located near the Daito Islands. Within the prefecture, Amami Oshima and Yoron Island are experiencing strong winds. On the 3rd, the Kagoshima Local Meteorological Observatory announced that due to the influence of Typhoon No. 24, a linear rainband may form in the Satsuma, Osumi, Tanegashima, and Yakushima regions from late that night to late that night on the 4th, potentially causing a rapid increase in the risk of heavy rain-related disasters.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, Typhoon No. 24 was located approximately 100 kilometers southwest of Minami Daito Island at 6:00 AM on the 3rd. It is expected to move northward south of Minami Daito Island and approach the Okinawa main island region by the afternoon of the 3rd.
