VIENNA. From next season, the Bundesliga football clubs will be allowed to nominate nine substitutes for championship matches instead of the previous seven.
Starting next season, Bundesliga clubs will be allowed to nominate nine substitutes for championship matches instead of the previous seven. This was decided on Thursday at the club conference and general meeting of the league. A uniform funding strategy will also be created for the teams from the top two divisions. Furthermore, the second division teams will also benefit from UEFA funds totaling 650,000 euros this year.
At the Bundesliga general meeting today, a majority of clubs will vote to increase the match squad to 20 players.
