Two Men Shot and Killed Inside Brooklyn Playground Friday Night
Police said the suspect fled on foot after the shooting, and the 73rd Precinct has recorded five murders this year through Sept. 6.
- On Friday night, a gunman shot and killed Deon Miller, 33, and Antoine Utsey, 35, inside Howard Playground in Brownsville, Brooklyn near Mother Gaston Boulevard and Glenmore Avenue, police said.
- Investigators are searching for a suspect seen fleeing northbound along Mother Gaston Boulevard wearing a dark red hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and black sneakers, per police sources.
- The 73rd Precinct, which covers Brownsville, recorded five murders through September 6 this year compared with three at the same point last year, according to NYPD data.
- Area resident Latoya Green said the playground shooting was troubling and called for community action. "Hopefully, we can come together and stop the violence in the neighborhood with the youth," Green said.
