The Regional Directorate for Food, Agriculture and Forestry (Draaf) announced this Monday, 20 July, that two Japanese beetles were captured in Strasbourg at the end of June. This species of beetle, which is particularly voracious, can cause significant damage to almost all plants.
Already seen in the region of Freiburg-en-Brisgau this year, the Japanese beetle, considered an invasive species, has been detected for the first time in 2026 in the Greater East region.
