Two arrested after 13-year-old boy dies following car crash
Two men aged 18 and 41 were arrested after a 13-year-old died following a collision with a white Seat Ibiza scooter in Grimsby, police said.
- A 13-year-old boy died on Friday following a collision on Fairmont Road, Grimsby, after being struck by a white Seat Ibiza while riding a self-propelled scooter on Tuesday.
- Humberside Police received reports at 6 p.m. on Tuesday that the white Seat Ibiza collided with the child across the road. Emergency services transported the boy to hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
- Officers have arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and attempting to pervert the course of justice. A 41-year-old man was also arrested on the same perverting-justice charge.
- Both men have since been released under investigation while Humberside Police continue to appeal for witnesses with CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them quoting log 346.
- Enquiries remain ongoing to determine the full circumstances around the collision. Despite the efforts of medical professionals over the past four days, the teenager sadly died yesterday evening on Friday.
