The French competition authority has fined 12 household appliance companies €611 million for illegal price fixing. For several years, these companies have implemented a whole system of surveillance (pressure, retaliation, etc.) of distributors forced to respect the prices dictated by manufacturers, to the detriment of consumers and newcomers to the sector.
