TUNIS, Tunisia (AP) — A boat carrying migrants capsized off the coast of southern Tunisia, killing at least two people and leaving 12 missing, Tunisia's national guard said Saturday. One survivor was rescued.
Residents of the city of Ben Guerdane, near the Libyan border from which 14 of the 15 migrants came, demonstrated after the shipwreck was announced, blocking roads and burning tires.
The number of fatalities continued to rise after the boat accident off the coast of the North African country. Of the 15 inmates, only one person is missing. Migrants apparently wanted to go to Italy.
