Trump campaigns in Florida ahead of weekend rallies in final midterm blitz
Trump reversed an earlier plan to skip the stops, saying he will hold back-to-back rallies for GOP Senate candidates in two battleground states.
President Donald Trump rallied Republican supporters in Daytona Beach, Florida, on Friday, urging voters to participate in the midterm elections he initially planned as his final in-person campaign event before Election Day.
The president has spent much of the month traveling to energize Republican voters as the party fights to maintain control of Congress, with midterms that could shape the final two years of his presidency.
During Friday, Trump spoke with Florida Republican gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds, acknowledging the grueling schedule: "I thought this was going to be my last one, Byron," Trump said, noting "Twenty-eight days in a row of this crap is a lot."
Returning to the campaign trail, Trump will hold back-to-back rallies in Iowa and Kansas, abruptly reversing his plan to shift to tele-rallies as both states host competitive Senate races critical to maintaining a Republican majority.
Regarding the Kansas race, Trump added that Republican Sen. Roger Marshall, locked in a tight contest with Democrat Adam Hamilton, "is doing well," while also supporting Iowa Senate candidate Ashley Hinson.
