The city learned about plans for a new barrier along the southern border during a regular meeting with the Department of Homeland Security.

The Texas border city of Laredo is inviting President Trump to come play a round of golf at their municipal course. The goal, they say, is to show how it would be ruined by a proposed border wall. Councilman Tyler King says the invitation is an outside-the-box way to bring attention to this issue. They want the federal government to, instead, beef up security at the ports of entry.
