For the Higher Education Council, the ban on mobile phones in high school is not the right solution. FCPE's National Vice President returns to five points of friction.
Although the bill is due to be presented to the members of the Higher Council for Education (CSE) this Wednesday, it is not guaranteed to receive a positive opinion. Whether it is teachers or heads of establishments on the front line in this case, there are few who defend the ban outright and hard. The two main unions among the second-level teachers, SNES-FSU and SE-UNSA, have already announced that they will vote against the government's text.
Framework or prohibit? The proposed bill intends to extend to the high school the law of 2018 which governs the use of the telephone in schools and in the college. Therefore, there is no provision for implementing the ban. Indeed, no human means in school life to control the effectiveness of the ban outside the classes nor material to store the phones in the classes are envisaged.
