Troilus Mining Corp. (TSX:TLG) - Updated Study Delivers Bigger Reserve, Longer Life, Higher Confidence - Research Portal
Troilus Mining (TLG) reported the results of an updated technical report on its 100%-owned Troilus Au-Cu project in Quebec, incorporating the recently completed Basic Engineering program. The report outlines a 26-year, 50,000 tpd open pit operation generating an after-tax NPV5% of US$3.2B, a 22% IRR, and a 3.6-year payback at base case prices of US$3,6000/oz Au, US$5.00/lb Cu, and US$50/oz Ag, with cumulative after-tax cash flow of US$6.9B over the LOM. The update represents a significant improvement over the 2024 FS. Reserve tonnage increased 26% to 478Mt, the LOM strip ratio improved to 2.4:1 from 3.1:1, and mine life extends to 26 years from 22. Notably, the US$1.428B initial capital estimate is now based on higher-confidence estimates, supported by ~95,000 engineering hours, with 90% of pricing inputs validated against current market quotations. We view this as a positive update that improves the operating parameters and enhances already robust economics. The update includes more accurate capex and operating cost estimates that materially de-risk the project ahead of the debt financing package expected in H2/26. Troilus remains one of our top picks.
