- Following months in captivity, the Israel Defense Force said on Oct. 14 that Joshi was killed during the first months of the war, while his mother and sister lobbied the United Nations for his release.
- Nepal’s Prime Minister Sushila Karki paid tribute at Kathmandu’s airport, draping the national flag over Joshi’s coffin and calling him `a son of Nepal, a son of every mother.
