On Monday, June 30, a Court of Special Criminal Guarantees for the Prosecution of Crimes Related to Corruption and Organized Crime reported its opinion in connection with a trial for organized crime that was still against Julio Alberto M. A., alias Negro Tulio, leader of the Chone Killer; his wife, Alexandra E. A., and fifteen other persons.
The court requested the Prosecutor's Office to investigate the mayor of Durán, Luis Chonillo, after his name was repeatedly mentioned during the judicial proceedings against Julio Alberto Martínez Alcívar, alias 'Black Tulio', appointed as leader of the criminal organization Los Chone Killers.
