Bengals' Trey Hendrickson Undergoes Season-Ending Core Muscle Surgery

Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson will have core muscle surgery this week, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on December 8, 2025, sidelining him for six weeks.
After a Week 6 hip injury against Green Bay, Hendrickson aggravated the injury in Week 8 against the New York Jets and rest and team rehab failed to improve his condition.
Through seven games played this season, Hendrickson has four sacks, eight QB hits and 16 tackles, and he led the NFL last season with 17.5 sacks.
Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor ruled Trey Hendrickson out for the Week 15 game vs. the Baltimore Ravens, with the 4-9 Bengals record and 1% playoff chance further jeopardized.
As Hendrickson approaches free agency, the surgery raises the possibility he has played his last down for the Cincinnati Bengals and could land elsewhere in the 2026 season.
