'Treasure Island': First Look At MGM+ & Paramount+ Pirate Series
The six-part series stars Hayley Atwell and David Oyelowo and follows Jim Hawkins after he finds Captain Flint’s treasure map.
- MGM+ will debut the Treasure Island reimagining in the U.S. on October 11, followed by Paramount+ in the UK and Ireland on October 12, with new episodes dropping weekly through mid-November.
- Creator Robert Murphy reimagines Robert Louis Stevenson's classic story, following teenager Jim Hawkins and his mother Bess Hawkins after discovering Captain Flint's legendary treasure map, which triggers a dangerous race for riches.
- Tom Sweet stars as Jim Hawkins, Hayley Atwell as Bess Hawkins, David Oyelowo as Long John Silver, Jack Huston as Aaron Graham, and Tomer Capone as Billy Bones.
- Playground Entertainment produced the series in association with Fifth Season, with executive producers Scott Huff, Colin Callender, and Daniel Gratton overseeing the project for both MGM+ and Paramount+.
- Directors Jeremy Lovering, William McGregor, and Paul Walker helm the project, which MGM Studios describes as "a bold, high-stakes coming-of-age adventure series for a new generation.
