Transfer: Man Utd Set to Sign Two LaLiga Midfielders
- Manchester United officials used a recent Champions League trip to Madrid to hold meetings regarding potential midfield reinforcements, inquiring about Barcelona's Fermin Lopez and Atletico Madrid's Pablo Barrios.
- Michael Carrick's squad requires midfield reinforcements, prompting the club to prioritize upgrades despite spending £155 million on three midfielders last summer.
- Clarifying the situation, Moretto stated United have "inquired about both of them," though there is "no negotiation, just an enquiry," suggesting pursuit of both remains unlikely.
- Barcelona reportedly values the 23-year-old Lopez at around £80 million, while Barrios remains indispensable to Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, presenting significant obstacles.
- Beyond midfield pursuits, United are also monitoring Leeds striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Fulham's Calvin Bassey, while managing uncertainty regarding captain Bruno Fernandes' future under Carrick.
