Two incidents affected, Sunday afternoon, the rail traffic in the areas of Buftea and Drăgănești Olt. At Buftea, a locomotive of a technological train caught fire, and the contact line was temporarily removed from the voltage. In the area of Drăgăști Olt - Radorirești, the rail traffic was stopped on both wires due to the dense smoke coming from a fire of vegetation.
The locomotive of a technological train located at CFR Buffea station was set on fire on Sunday, September 6, 2026. The accident was confirmed by the National Railway Company CFR SA, which stated that in order to allow firefighters to intervene, it was removed from the line of contact under tension on the Periș–Chitila route, which temporarily blocked the railway traffic.
