US Finalizes Reciprocal Trade Deal with Ecuador

The deal grants duty-free access to over 1,000 Ecuadorian products and includes commitments on tariffs, migration, and space agency control, benefiting 53% of non-oil exports.

The pact applies a most-favored-nation rate to imports of flowers, coffee, fruits and other goods from Ecuador.

The Reciprocal Trade Agreement (ART) signed by Ecuador and the United States must undergo legal procedures in each country for ratification and entry into force.

The agreement will allow Ecuadorian products to enter the U.S. market under more competitive conditions. These include bananas, plantains, pineapples, mangoes, pitahaya, ginger, and goldenberries.
