IFA 2026: TP-Link Unveils First Complete Wi-Fi 8 Line
The lineup uses TP-Link’s StabilityEngine and chipsets from Broadcom, Qualcomm and MediaTek to improve coverage, congestion handling and interference resistance.
- At IFA 2026 in Berlin, TP-Link Systems Inc. unveiled its first Wi-Fi 8 lineup, led by the Archer 8 Ultra router and the Deco 8 Ultra mesh system.
- TP-Link designed this new lineup to prioritize stability and range over raw speed, addressing common connectivity issues like dead zones and interference rather than pursuing incremental performance gains.
- Gary Chang, Lead Industrial Designer at TP-Link, said: "We stopped building a piece of networking equipment and started designing for the home." The Archer 8 Ultra includes 18 internal antennas.
- Consumers can pre-order the Archer 8 Ultra on September 30, 2026, following a global online launch event; the Deco 8 Ultra delivers up to 22 Gbps speeds and covers up to 9,800 sq. feet.
- While based on the draft IEEE 802.11bn standard, the lineup will expand in 2027 with travel routers and range extenders, as the Wi-Fi 8 standard awaits full approval in 2028.
