Toyota has announced a semi-autonomous 2++ driving system for its private vehicles from 2028 onwards. The Japanese manufacturer also prepares the level 4 for its commercial vehicles by 2030, with a possible approximation to Waymo for robotaxis.
Toyota is preparing for 2028 an advanced support system that will compete with Tesla’s FSD, but will keep the driver responsible for driving. The strategy combines a safety barrier designed with human parameters and a complex European regulatory scenario.
