All rescue teams from the capital area and east to Höfn were called out to search for a foreign tourist who has now been found safe. He had set off on a hike last night above Foss á Síða in South Iceland but did not return.
Rescue teams in South Iceland were called out shortly before noon for a foreign tourist who had not returned from a hike above Foss á Síða in South Iceland since last night. A Coast Guard helicopter, which was stationed in Höfn when the call was received, assisted in the search. Magnús Ragnarsson, Chief of Patrol at the South Iceland Police, says the man arrived at the search safely in the early hours of the morning. RÚV / Kristófer Óli Birkisson
