Corfu Tragedy as British Dad Dies in Quad Bike Crash While Son Injured
Police are investigating the crash after rescue crews rushed the father and son to hospital, with the boy suffering severe injuries.
On Tuesday, a 42-year-old British tourist died in a quad bike crash on Corfu, leaving his 15-year-old son severely injured near Almyros at approximately 2pm local time.
Local media reports indicate the quad bike inexplicably left the tarmac and crashed into an olive grove on the rural route connecting Roda and Acharavi, located about 35 km from Corfu Town.
Emergency responders, including teams from the Police and the Fire Department, rushed to the scene and successfully extracted the driver from the damaged vehicle; however, the father succumbed to his injuries.
Following the collision, the injured teenager was transported by ambulance to the Hospital of Corfu, where medical personnel continue treating him as he remains in serious condition.
Local police have launched an investigation into the exact circumstances of the fatal collision, which occurred near the Almyros Beach Resort and SPA on the northern coast.
