Austria hits record summer tourism numbers in May-July period

The first half of the summer season 2025 has run almost never before for Austria's tourist, despite a weak July. According to Statistik Austria, there were 40.55 million overnight stays from May to July, an increase of 1.3 percent compared to the same period last year and a record figure. According to Statistics Austria, there were 40.55 million overnight stays from May to July – an increase of 1.3 percent compared to the same period last year and a record high. The number of arrivals (regardless of length of stay; note) also rose by 1.5 percent to a record number of 13.40 million guests.
From May to July, local tourism companies recorded 40.55 million overnight stays, 70 percent of which was attributable to foreign tourists.
