The French hydrocarbon giant TotalEnergies announced on Tuesday 25 November 2025 its decision to "demobilize its floating LNG terminal (FSRU) in Le Havre", installed after the energy crisis of 2022 to provide France and Europe with gas. This act is in line with the decision of the administrative court of Rouen.
The administrative court in Rouen had ruled in October that the serious threat to energy security, which led to the commissioning of this terminal, no longer exists today.
