Top Two Spots in American Banker's 50 Top Innovators in Finance Awarded to CEOs of Vantage Bank and Custodia, Hazel Network's Co-Founders
Jeff Sinnott and Caitlin Long were ranked No. 1 and No. 2 as Hazel Network completed the first of four testing stages, American Banker said.
On June 5, 2026, American Banker named Vantage Bank CEO Jeff Sinnott #1 and Custodia CEO Caitlin Long #2 to its inaugural list of The Most Innovative People in Finance, recognizing their joint Hazel Network development.
The co-founders designed Hazel Network to bridge traditional and digital finance. "We built Hazel Network to reduce the friction," said Long, explaining the effort to avoid asset disintermediation.
Sinnott spearheaded initiatives including an instant cross-border payment pilot that cut wire costs by 94 percent, utilizing a patent-protected unified smart contract method to service tokenized deposits and stablecoins.
Custodia complies with Wyoming special purpose depository institution laws requiring 100% reserved fiat deposits and maintains strict compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and federal "know your customer" requirements.
Multiple industry organizations, including the Texas Bankers Association, support banks joining the network. Following successful completion of the first of four testing stages in April, developers continue scaling efficiencies to regional banks.
