Santiniketan was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List on September 17. The Permanent Representative of India to UNESCO Vishal V Sharma expressed joy and gratitude for the inclusion and thanked the Ministry of Culture and Archeological Survey of India. He also said the inclusion on Narendra Modi’s birthday is a birthday gift to PM who happens to be Chancellor of Santiniketan.
