'Don't Forget Your Children' - Toluwanisings' Widow Breaks Down in Tears
Akanbi Elizabeth wept as gospel singers gathered for a tribute night, while the family kept burial plans on hold pending an investigation.
On Tuesday, October 27, 2026, Akanbi Elizabeth, widow of late Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, known as Toluwanisings, paid emotional tribute to her husband at a memorial event in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Toluwanisings died on October 14, 2026, after slumping in Ibadan, sparking controversy over his burial location. This came amid ongoing disagreement between the widow and her husband's family over his final resting place.
Several gospel artists, including Adeyinka Alaseyori, Esther Igbekele, and Laolu Gbenjo, attended the tribute night at the Jogor Centre. Speaking through tears, Elizabeth said, "Toluwanisings my dear husband, I will forever miss you. Please don't forget your children and me."
The Family insists that burial arrangements remain on hold until investigators determine the circumstances surrounding his death, demanding a transparent process and calling on community leaders to prevent interference.
Citing an absence of visible mourning by the wife when seven family members visited the residence, the Family alleged possible foul play, though these claims remain allegations and have not been independently established.
