It was international news in 1989 when pro wrestler Andre “The Giant” was arrested in Cedar Rapids after he manhandled a KCRG cameraman he thought had been filming him during an exhibition match. Assistant Cedar Rapids Police Chief Jim Barnes said the 7-foot, 4-inch, 540-pound wrestler was cooperative. “It really would have been difficult had he not cooperated,” Barnes said.
