Tim Hortons to shut down credit card program in October, company says
Cards will still work after Oct. 1, but transactions will stop earning Tims Rewards Points, and eligible customers can switch to a cashback Mastercard.
On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, Tim Hortons announced it is ending its co-branded credit card program on Oct 1, shuttering the service it launched three years ago to deliver value to Canadians.
Launched in June 2023, the credit card program aimed to appeal to Canadians seeking accessible financial products and was powered by Neo Financial.
Existing cards will remain functional after Oct 1, though they will be managed directly by Neo Financial and transactions will no longer earn Tims Rewards Points.
Eligible cardholders can choose to upgrade to a Neo Financial Mastercard that includes cashback features, according to an email sent by the company.
This move marks the chain's second exit from the financial sector, as it previously partnered with CIBC in 2014 on the "Double Double Visa Card," which the company discontinued in 2019.
