Without provocation, a 26-year-old man attacked a man, believed to be homeless, on Thursday evening at the Seestadt subway station in Vienna's Donaustadt district, punching and kicking him. While the victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries, the Austrian man, who was heavily intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of over 0.2%, cited xenophobia as his motive, police reported on Friday.
