Only Fools and Horses Memorabilia Set to Sell for £40,000 at Auction
Iconic Auctioneers says the restored 1969 Reliant Regal Supervan III comes with show props and memorabilia and could sell for up to £40,000.
The 1969 Reliant Regal Supervan III used in the BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses will be auctioned on Sunday, November 15 at the NEC Classic Motor Show in Birmingham, with estimates between £30,000 and £40,000.
Known for its appearance in the series' debut episode 'Big Brother,' this specific vehicle with registration APL 911H was the only one used throughout all 13 episodes of the first two series broadcast between 1981 and 1982.
The current owner recently performed mechanical updates including new brake cylinders and a new battery, while restoring exterior details like the grey-primer bonnet hatch to match its iconic television appearance.
Sales Manager Gary Dunne at Iconic Auctioneers said, 'This Reliant is a good reminder that significance is not always measured in performance or panache.' The sale includes memorabilia like a novelty £6.2 million cheque payable to D Trotter and R Trotter.
Offered at no reserve, the van remains a significant piece of British television history, attracting fans hoping to own a piece of Del Boy's legacy from the show's earliest years.
The yellow "Reliant Regal" van that has become synonymous with the commercial "combinations" of the main character of the series "Mućke" will soon be up for auction.
