Three friends of Jolanda de Vries (54) were diagnosed with breast cancer in the same year. It was a terrible time, during which one of the friends even passed away. However, something positive also came out of it, say Jolanda and Mireille van Vugt (56), one of the women who became ill. “The diaries were suddenly no longer needed. Our friendship has grown because of the shared experience of cancer.”
