Three Arrested on Suspicion of Stealing Copper Cables; Suspects Are Believed to Be Part of a Vietnamese Metal Theft Ring
Three Vietnamese men, including a 25-year-old unemployed Yokohama resident, have been arrested on suspicion of crimes including theft of copper cables, the Metropolitan Police Department said Monday.
Neumarkt/Berngau - Last weekend, unknown perpetrators took copper cables with a total value of several thousand euros on several construction sites in the Neumarkt area. In Berngau, they were particularly bold.
In two separate operations carried out yesterday, Municipal Police officers arrested two individuals caught in the act while stealing wiring from private and telecommunications facilities, respectively. The first incident occurred around 7:15 a.m. at a business located on Oaxaca and Benito Juárez streets in the Centro neighborhood.
