  • Following the storm that made landfall late Thursday, coastal communities experienced widespread disruptions as trees downed power lines. Earlier Friday, the Gulf Islands and North Island were particularly affected, with nearly 2,500 customers losing power.
  • Environment Canada issued wind warnings for the region, with strong southerly winds gusting up to 90 km/h expected to continue. Utility crews work to restore power while residents remain on alert for ongoing severe weather.
