Thousands of No Kings protests held for nationwide early voting ‘day of action’
Organizers say the nonpartisan effort will help voters check registration, request ballots and train poll watchers as concerns grow over election integrity.
- On Saturday, grassroots groups across the United States will host over 3,000 "No Kings: Vote Early" marches and events to promote midterm early voting and help voters overcome barriers to casting ballots.
- Ezra Levin, co-founder of Indivisible, stated the coalition has shifted from protesting the second Trump administration to facilitating early voting, marking a strategic pivot for the coalition of about 200 partner organizations.
- In Frisco, Texas, Indivisible Frisco co-leader Cammy Dunford plans a "voting is your superpower" gathering where volunteers trained by Common Cause will distribute 500 goodie bags with voting resources and serve as poll monitors.
- Organizers cite concerns about the failed SAVE America Act and potential federal immigration officers at polling places as threats to election integrity, motivating groups to train poll watchers to protect voters during midterm elections.
