This Confirmed Samsung S26 Ultra Privacy Feature Is the Tech Innovation I've Waited Years For
- Ahead of Unpacked, ZDNET confirmed Samsung’s Privacy Display will block screen parts viewed at an angle, debuting on the Galaxy S26 series alongside One UI 8.5.
- Users can pick which screen areas to block and disable Privacy Display, designed for regular consumers and business users to hide sensitive notifications and 2FA codes.
- Technically, Samsung uses pixel-level light control on its OLED panel so the privacy area fades to black as viewers shift, blocking notifications and 2FA codes without reducing brightness or color depth.
- The feature could substantially improve on-the-go privacy for everyday consumers and business users and may persuade some Google Pixel loyalists amid flagship competition.
- Strategically, leaked S Pen images show color limited to clickable tips, while last year’s removal of stylus support and stiff competition from Apple have reshaped Galaxy S26 Ultra plans.
