In an attempt to break the nitrogen crisis in the Netherlands, Minister of Agriculture Jaimi van Essen (D66) hopes to receive help from the European Commission. The minister confirmed this to BNR, following earlier reporting by Politico. ‘I have asked Brussels: help me also with the proper interpretation of that legislation and guidelines.’ He emphasizes that he is not going to ‘bang his fist on the table’, as the previous cabinet intended to do.
