Thieves Strike Again, Stealing Pallets of Beef in Philadelphia's Latest Cargo Heist
Police are working to determine how much beef was stolen as investigators search for suspects in two cargo thefts this week.
On Thursday, thieves stole five pallets of beef valued at $10,000 from a tractor-trailer on the 5200 block of Devereaux Avenue in the Wissinoming section of Philadelphia while the driver slept.
This incident follows a cargo heist on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, when thieves stole 3,000 pounds of frozen crab from a truck on the 3600 block of Island Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia.
The driver captured cellphone video of suspects fleeing in a dark gray Nissan sedan and two dark-colored SUVs, providing police with crucial evidence for their investigation.
Philadelphia Police Department officials are investigating whether the two thefts are linked and urging trucking companies to use hardened steel locks and park in well-lit areas.
Earlier this month, suspects stole more than $40,000 worth of beef from a truck in Northeast Philadelphia, following a late September theft in South Philadelphia targeting sleeping drivers.
