However, the tourist overflights led to more than 1,000 citizens of this region of Antioquia expressing their discomfort, because of the effects on their tranquility, privacy, safety, a dignified life and health.
The Council of State confirmed the suspension of the operations of the tourist helipads located in the area of Piedra del Peñol, after concluding that the constant noise of the helicopters violates the fundamental collective rights of the inhabitants of Guatapé. The high court determined that these activities affect the healthy environment, tranquility, privacy and security of thousands of residents living near the tourist corridor.
