Veracruz, April 4.- The federal government reported that "it maintains the inter-institutional operation for the care of the presence of hydrocarbons on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico" and that 32 of the 48 beaches affected are already without a landing (7 in Tabasco and 25 in Veracruz), and that 894 tons of hydrocarbons have been collected, of which 853.6 tons correspond to beaches and 40.6 tons to the sea.
The spills reported since early March, but present since January 2026, are the result of a ship spill and two natural oil emanations in front of the Campeche Sound.
