The Warsaw District Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment against Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik with the District Court for Warsaw-Śródmieście on Thursday, announced Piotr Antoni Skiba, spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw.
The high-profile case involving two former heads of the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA) is resurfacing. The prosecutor's office has filed an indictment against Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik. Politicians are responding online, accusing the investigators of political motivations. The dispute over their credentials and immunities has been ongoing for months – now it may enter a new phase.
The prosecutor's office alleges that Kamiński and Wąsik did not comply with the final court ruling prohibiting them from holding public office and at the end of December 2023 they exercised their mandates as members of parliament.
Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik are facing charges of violating a ban on holding public office. Both politicians deny the accusations.
