Theo Francken receives special key ring from Ludivine Dedonder: “We have a lot of catching up to do”

The handover of the keys between outgoing Minister of Defence Ludivine Dedonder (PS) and her successor Theo Francken (N-VA) took place in a polite and friendly atmosphere on Monday afternoon. Dedonder received applause from her cabinet.

N-VA leader Theo Francken becomes a federal government member again. After a first passage as Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration in the Michel government, the Flemish Brabander will receive a ministerial portfolio for the first time under N-VA member Bart De Wever. He gets the post of Defence, which he himself had hoped for.
