Turkish Economy Grows 2.3% Yr-on-Yr in Q2, Below Forecast
Türkiye's economy grew 2.3% year-over-year in the second quarter of 2026, with GDP reaching 19.87 trillion Turkish liras at current prices.
Agriculture, forestry, and fishing led sector growth at 13.3%, while construction was the only major sector to contract, falling 1.9% year-over-year.
Household final consumption expenditure increased 3.5%, government consumption fell 1.8%, and exports of goods and services decreased 3.4% year-over-year in Q2 2026.
In 2025, Türkiye's economy expanded 3.7% annually, with manufacturing as the largest GDP sector and construction growing 11%.
Turkey's economic growth figures for the second quarter of this year have been announced. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) contracted by 2.3 percent in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the previous month.
