The Sudanese army announced, Thursday, that it had taken control of 11 areas of North Kordofan State in the south of the country, after fighting with the Rapid Support Forces. The army said in a statement: "Our forces today were able to liberate areas: Kjmer, Sharshar, the Crane structure, the castle, the boys of the packet, Moqdat, Rishan, the Hall, the Al-Khal forest, the Koketi area and the area around the Boith."
