A user in the home care service in Valdemarsvik raised the alarm with his security alarm. Although the staff did not get in touch, the alarm was not followed up with a physical visit. In the morning the person was found deceased. “We have since clarified in our written procedures that a silent alarm must be followed up immediately,” says Maria Frisäter, social director in Valdemarsvik municipality.
