Forest fires are raging in the areas of Bihać, Kalesija, Drvar and the municipality of Prozor-Rama in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Firefighting aircraft, military helicopters and the army are involved in extinguishing them. Dense smoke has spread all the way to Dalmatia in neighboring Croatia, alarming residents there, according to media in the region. The fires are also being reported from Montenegro.
DALMATIA woke up on Sunday morning under a thick layer of smoke and haze. Visibility was significantly reduced in many areas, and citizens from the coast, islands and the Dalmatian hinterland reported an intense smell of burning.
The fires that broke out in the area of Canton 10 in Bosnia and Herzegovina created large amounts of smoke that descended from the Dinaric area towards the Dalmatian coast and covered Split on Sunday.
